LAGRANGE, Ga. – Having taken on some of the top teams in the country on the opening weekend, No. 2/3 LaGrange (2-1, 0-0 CCS) baseball returns to the friendly confines of Cleaveland Field in Williamson Stadium for their home opener against Emory (1-1, 0-0 UAA). First pitch is set for 7 p.m. under the lights.

The Panthers knocked off No. 21/24 East Texas Baptist (5-0 on 2/17), fell to homestanding No. 4/4 Birmingham-Southern (9-5 on 2/18) and took down Millsaps (7-3 on 2/19) at the BSC Spring Classic while the Eagles fell 8-1 to Rhodes (2/10) and beat Oglethorpe (2/14) by a 7-4 score.

SERIES HISTORY

LaGrange trails the all-time series against Emory 25-13 dating back to a 6-4, 10-inning loss during the 2002 season. Over the next 13 seasons they would go 4-23, a stretch that included a pair of eight-game losing streaks. Since the 2016 season, however, they have gone 8-2 and have won three straight dating back to a split in 2021. Most recently the Panthers claimed a 7-4 decision at Cleaveland Field on February 22, 2022.
