LAGRANGE, Ga. – Having just completed a sweep of their stiffest competition in the Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS), No. 8/9 LaGrange (21-7, 9-0 CCS) baseball steps out of conference as they host Oglethorpe (6-26, 4-11 SAA) on April 11. First pitch is slated for 6 p.m., a start time that has been moved up an hour.

The Panthers come into the game having taken all three from Belhaven, notching victories by scores of 6-5, 4-2 and 11-1 from April 6-7 while the Stormy Petrels snapped a seven-game in the most improbable way. After dropping a 13-3 decision to No. 1 Birmingham-Southern (4/8) on the road they would pull off a narrow 2-1 victory over the Panthers. They would then go on to drop an 8-3 decision in the nightcap that same day.

SERIES HISTORY

LaGrange holds a 37-12 lead in the all-time series against Oglethorpe, a stretch that dates back to 2001. It is a series that saw the Panthers win 21 of the first 23 meetings into the 2009 campaign. Since 2017 they have won eight of the past nine, including six in a row through 2020. Most recently they notched a 20-9 victory in Atlanta, Georgia on April 12, 2022 and an 8-2 decision there on March 14 of this year.
