LAGRANGE, Ga. – Coming off an upset of the top team in the country, No. 13/16 LaGrange (24-9, 10-2 CCS) baseball hits the road for their final regular season road series when they take on Maryville (19-12, 3-9 CCS) from April 21-23. The opening game is slated for a 7 p.m. first pitch with the final two games going at 2 p.m.

Coming off a week that saw them go 2-2 and drop their first series of the year, the Panthers made sure the baseball world knew that was a fluke as they pummeled No. 2/1 Birmingham-Southern (4/18) on the road by a 15-3 score, wrapping it early in seven innings.

Maryville, meanwhile, won their first 12 games to begin the season but has since gone 7-12. Most recently, however, they have won four of their last five, defeating Sewanee (11-7 on 4/11), Covenant (4-3 on 4/15 and 8-0 on 4/17) and Roanoke (8-4 on 4/18).

SERIES HISTORY

One of the more frequent series in program history, the teams have met 78 times with LaGrange holding a commanding 55-23 advantage dating to 2001. The Panthers won 19 of the first 23 meetings, including 10 straight from 2002-05. That is a stretch topped only by the current 11-game winning streak dating to 2019 and including wins of 7-5, 8-1 and 9-8 from April 22-24.
