LAGRANGE, Ga. – No. 13/16 LaGrange (25-11, 11-4 CCS) baseball closes out both an eight game road swing and the regular season non-conference schedule as they head to Atlanta, Georgia to take on Emory (27-11, 13-2 UAA) on Tuesday, April 25. First pitch is slated for 3 p.m.

The Panthers enter off of a 2-2 week that saw them reach the highs of pounding No. 2/1 Birmingham-Southern (4/18) on the road by a 15-3 score and notching a 7-4 come-from-behind victory in the opener at Maryville (4/21) to dropping the series over the next two days by scores of 11-8 and 7-2.

Emory closes out their regular season after setting a program single season record for wins and clinching the outright regular season title in the University Athletic Association (UAA). They have won 16 of their last 18 dating back to March 25 with their only loses coming to Case Western Reserve (7-4 on 4/2) and 14-4 to Berry (4/18). It has also been a stretch that saw them score 62 runs in one day with 31-4 and 31-7 decisions over Brandeis (4/8).

SERIES HISTORY

LaGrange trails the all-time series against Emory 26-13 dating back to a 6-4, 10-inning loss during the 2002 season. Over the next 13 seasons they would go 4-23, a stretch that included a pair of eight-game losing streaks. Since the 2016 season, however, they have gone 9-2 and have won four straight dating back to a split in 2021. Most recently the Panthers claimed a 15-4 decision at Cleaveland Field on February 22, 2023.
