SVU Knights out scored the Panthers in USA South matchup

The LC Panthers took on the Southern Virginia Knights on Saturday (Sept. 30). Although the defense forced multiple turnovers and the offense had a season high points scored, the Panthers dropped the game 52-26. The host Knights led 14-7 after one quarter, 28-20 at halftime and 38-20 after three quarters on their way to victory against the visiting LC Panthers. The Panthers head back home to face N.C. Wesleyan on Oct. 7 at 1 p.m.

Offense

Goldman Butler VI again had a phenomenal game. On 14 rushes, he accounted for 78 yards, which averaged out to a superb 5.1 yards per carry. Rashod Brockington scored his first Panther passing touchdown today. On 17 attempts, he completed nine for 100 yards and two touchdowns. Jaden Smith was Brockington's lead target today. He caught three passes for 83 yards and one of Brockington's touchdowns. 

Defense 

Today, the defense caused one forced fumble and had two interceptions against the Knights. Lakevin DeBruce led the team in tackles with an incredible 19. Demon Jones followed him with a total of 11 tackles.
