
MONTGOMERY, Ala. - LaGrange clipped Huntingdon 76-60 for its second straight win Saturday at Roland Arena. The Panthers improved to 4-19 overall and 2-3 in the GSAC.
Nic Whitfield led the Panthers with a game-high 20 points. Whitfield was 8-for-10 from the floor and 4-of-6 at the free throw line.
Blake Craft followed with 14 points, making 2-of-3 3-point shots. Stephen Spivey hit 6-of-7 shots from the floor for 12 points. Marcus Vaughn pulled down a game-high 12 rebounds.
Ephriam Hudson led Huntingdon (10-12, 2-3 GSAC) with 11 points. Adrain Williams had nine points and seven rebounds. Williams had 28 points, 12 rebounds and eight blocked shots in the Hawks' 73-54 win over the Panthers on Jan. 22.
The Panthers trailed 31-29 with 4:16 left in the first half. Craft started a 15-3 run to close out the half with a 3-pointer for a 32-31 lead.
Leading 39-34, Jerod Howard doubled the Panthers' lead. He hit a 3-pointer and ended the first half scoring with a layup for a 44-34 halftime lead.
Huntingdon never got closer the rest of the game. Spivey's layup off an assist from Stephen Tuck gave the Panthers their largest lead of the game, 76-55, with 3:10 remaining.
The Panthers play at Covenant on Tuesday at 8 p.m.
