The Panthers start the season 2-0 after blowing by Millsaps College

Despite starting the game off slow, it was all Panthers all night. The end of the first half and beginning of the second half 25-point Panther run, pushed LC past Millsaps. Samuel Moss scored the most for LC (14), followed by Shaun Nichols and Gabe Cofield, who both scored 13. Cameron Lumar scored a team-high 31 points for Millsaps but it was not enough to beat the Panthers. LC won 100-77.

First half details 

Millsaps got off to a hot start against LC, going up 11-4 in the first four minutes. The Panthers were able to fight back to tie the game at 19-19. The tying point came off a Samuel Moss steal which was passed to Kyle Smith, for him to hit a deep two. During the last four minutes of the half, the Panthers went on a huge run. LC was leading 34-32 when they went on a 12-0 run to finish the half up 48-32. Samuel Moss had a team-high 13 points at half, while shooting 45% from the field, 50% from three and 4-4 at the free throw line. The Panthers also were able to take advantage of their 10 turnovers. LC scored nine points off of the mistakes, and only gave up two points on Panther turnovers. 

Second half details 

The Panthers continued their incredible run in the second half. LC brought the score to 61-32 after scoring 13 more unanswered points. This 25 point Panther run was made possible by hard rebounding, smothering defense and great shooting. LC was able to cruise the rest of the way to win 100-77. Gabe Cofield scored a team-high 13 points in the second half.
