The men's soccer team heads north to Kentucky to face Berea College on Oct. 7, at 1 p.m. 

The Matchup

The Panthers are 5-5-1 (3-1 in the CCS) and most recently won against Piedmont (Oct 3). The game against the Lions was one of the most exciting matches of the year for the Panthers. In the 87th minute, Matthew Webb found Enrique Hernandez for him to stuff in a last minute goal to put LC up 1-0. The Bears of Berea are 4-8-1 (1-2 in the CCS) and are coming off of a 2-1 win against Maryville (Oct. 3). Freshman midfielder Victor Hernandez leads the Bears in points with 14, off of six goals and two assists. The last time the two teams played the Panthers won 2-0 (Oct. 8, 2023).

What to watch for

So far this season, the Panthers are 1-4-1 in away matches. One thing to pay attention to is how and if the Panthers will be affected in this away match. Especially after coming off of an emotional CCS win, will LC be able to start fast?

Panthers making waves 

In other Panther soccer news, this week, goalkeeper Andrew Cole won CCS Defensive Player of the Week. He finished the week with six saves and has an incredible .755 save percentage on the year.
