LAGRANGE, Ga. – LaGrange (1-2, 0-1 CCS) men's tennis battled Huntingdon (1-0, 1-0 CCS) before dropping a 6-3 decision and fell 9-0 on the road to Oglethorpe (1-0, 0-0 SAA) in a pair of NCAA Division III men's tennis matches on Friday, February 17 and Saturday, February 18.

HUNTINGDON 6, LAGRANGE 3

After dropping an 8-2 decision at No. 3 doubles, the Panthers delivered to ultra competitive matches at the top two spots. That would see senior Al Robertson (Moreland, Ga.) and freshman Michael Strydom (Brits, South Africa) knock off Lane Young and Clint Robinson by an 8-6 score at the No. 1 position. Freshmen Nic Bodin (Atlanta, Ga.) and Kyle Moore (Sharpsburg, Ga.) would then fall by a narrow 8-7 (5-0) score to Cameron Reed and Tanner Lynn at No. 2.

Trailing 2-1, Strydom knocked off Reed 6-2, 6-2 at the two spot to even it up and Bodin posted a 6-3, 7-5 decision over Zach Cox at No. 3 to pull ahead 3-2. From there, however, it would be all Hawks as they took the next four matches to pull out the 6-3 victory. The most competitive of those would see Robertson push Young at No. 1 as he took the first set 6-4 before falling 7-6 and 10-5.

OGLETHORPE 9, LAGRANGE 0

The Stormy Petrels would be in command from just about the very beginning as they took two of the doubles points by 8-2 (No. 2) and 8-0 (No. 3) scores. Robertson and Strydom came the closest as they fell 8-6 at No. 1 to Kirman Kiker and Sam Wasko. Up 3-0, OU then took all six singles points while not allowing more than three points in any one match
