The Panthers continue CCS play on the road this weekend (Sept. 24), as they take on Maryville College at 2 p.m.

The matchup

The Maryville Scots are 4-1-3 on the season so far. They played one CCS matchup against Covenant (Sept. 20), in which they came away with a 1-1 tie. Sophomore forward Hannah Smoot leads the Scots in points with four goals and three assists. After securing their first CCS win against Agnes Scott (Sept. 22), the Panthers are now 3-3-2 on the season. This win broke the three-game losing skid for the Panthers in which they lost those matches by only one each. In the Agnes Scott game, junior midfielder Briana Suarez was the star Panther as she accounted for two of the three goals.

What to watch for

Just like in the Oglethorpe match, the Panthers looked much better in the second half against Agnes Scott. Ten minutes into the half, the Panthers had already taken a 2-0 lead. One thing to watch for in the Maryville match is if the Panthers can carry this momentum and start off hot.

When and where to watch

The game is on Sunday (Sept. 24) at Maryville College. The match begins at 2 p.m. and can be streamed here.
