Panthers soccer crushes Wesleyan 9-0

Kirsten Captino's four-goal game pushed the Panthers past Wesleyan 9-0. 

It was all Panthers all the way, all game. LC's first goal came in the 5th minute when Kirsten Captino hit a great shot past the keeper. Kirsten Captino scored her second but not last goal in the 20th minute when Kaia King made a great pass to her. In the 30th minute, Briana Suarez scored a goal of her own to put the Panthers up 3-0. Madison Dekker scored the fourth goal of the game to put LC up 4-0 in the 42nd minute. The halftime score was 4-0.

The Panthers started off the scoring quickly in the second half, when Kaia King got a one on one with the goalkeeper after Briana Suarez made a great pass. King again found the net again only four minutes later to put LC up 6-0. In the 15th minute of the second half, the Panthers scored another goal after a shot ricocheted off of the crossbar and was put stuffed in the net by Kirsten Captino. The Panthers were not done yet. In the 22nd minute of the second, Makenzi Maltezo took a fantastic shot to score the 8th goal for LC when Kendyl Anderson hit her with a crisp pass. The Panthers scored their final goal in the 28th minute of the second, when Kendyl Anderson found Kirsten Captino for her to put the Panthers up 9-0.

Kirsten Captino had a career game for the Panthers, scoring a total of four of the nine LC goals.

The team hits the road to face Warren Wilson on Sept. 30. The match begins at 2 p.m. and can be streamed here.
