Despite the Panthers best effort, LC lost to the Lions 2-1 in the final match of the 2023 season.
The first half was a defensive battle for both teams. Only one shot was on goal, and a total of six shots were taken. Unsurprisingly, the score was 0-0 at halftime. The Panthers came out firing in the second half. Kirsten Captino hit a great goal in the 49th minute to put the Panthers up 1-0. The Lions hit a goal of their own in the 60th minute to tie it 1-1. Piedmont scored again in the 79th minute to go up 2-1. The Lions were able to hold on the rest of the way to win 2-1.
This is the final game of the 2023 season.
