The Panthers fought throughout the match but fall short today against Oglethorpe. In the first set, we trailed by three or four points throughout, forcing them to not become complacent. After a 5-0 run, Oglethorpe won 25-17. 

The second set was all Oglethorpe, keeping a constant eight to ten point lead throughout. The final score of the set was 25-17. 

During the third set, the Panthers started off hot, going up 4-2 fast. With great effort, we led throughout the third set. After being down 13-6, Oglethorpe took a much-needed timeout to try to slow down the Panther run, but it did not work. LaGrange College crushed the third set, winning 25-16.

In the fourth set, Oglethorpe came out swinging, taking a quick 5-0 lead. After a Panther timeout to collect themselves, LC fought hard to get back in it. Sadly, the great effort was not enough, with Oglethorpe winning the fourth set 25-10.

The next game for the Panthers is at home in Richter Gymnasium against Wesleyan, on Tuesday (Sept. 5) at 7 p.m.
