LAGRANGE, Ga. – After seeing their twin bill against Wesleyan halted in the second inning of Game 1 due to weather, LaGrange (5-11, 0-0 CCS) softball is back in action as they host Meredith (4-4, 0-0 USA South) in a doubleheader on Saturday, March 11. First pitch for the twinbill is set for 12 p.m.
The Panthers come in having gone 1-3 at the 16th Annual Grand Slam Softball Classic, falling to Mary Baldwin (6-0 on 3/4), Randolph (5-4 on 3/4) and Eastern Mennonite (11-0 on 3/5) while blanking Salem (11-0 on 3/5).
It has been a tale of two seasons for the Angels as they dropped their first four games of the season, falling 8-0 and 3-0 at Virginia Wesleyan (2/24) and 10-4 and 3-2 at Guilford (2/26). They would follow that with a 7-1 win over Messiah (3/4), 6-2 vs. Bethany (3/4), 8-7 against Denison (3/5) and 12-0 over Averett (3/5).
SERIES HISTORY
LaGrange holds an 8-5 lead in the all-time series dating back to a 10-0 victory in 2007. That would be the beginning of eight wins in the first 10 meetings into the 2017 season but MC has won the last three, most recently 4-3 on March 19, 2022.
