"Jahpera is playing at an incredibly high level for us," said LaGrange College women's basketball head coach Jasen Jonus. "She is putting up great numbers, but more importantly, she is making her teammates better and prioritizing team accomplishments over personal accolades. She brings non-stop energy every game and every practice. We are beyond grateful to have Jahpera in a Panther uniform."
The Panthers (4-0, 4-0 USA South) swept the season series against Covenant for the first time since 2016-17.
McEachin tied a career-high 25 points, to go along with eight rebounds, six assists and two steals, during an 85-46 triumph over visiting Covenant on Thursday. The 5-foot-5 guard shot 9-for-17 from the field and 2-for-4 on 3-pointers.
Two days later, she dropped another 25 points, alongside eight rebounds and five assists. The Federal Way, Washington, native tied a personal-best five steals and shot 13 of 15 from the free-throw line. The 13 made free throws are the most by McEachin in a Panther uniform and are tied for the seventh most in a single game in program history.
On the season, McEachin ranks second in the USA South in assists per game (9.0), second in steals per game (3.8), tied for fourth in 3-point percentage (50.0), sixth in points per game (19.5) and 11th in free-throw percentage (80.8).
McEachin opened the 2021 season with her first two collegiate double-doubles in wins over Agnes Scott on Jan. 15 and 16. During the first game, she tied the program record for single-game assists with 14.
LC is scheduled to play Brevard on Friday and Saturday in Mariotti Gym, with game times set for 7 and 5 p.m., respectively.
