Freshman Joe Ruth is the USA South Rookie of the Week for the week ending March 24. It is the second time this season Ruth has picked up the weekly honor.
Ruth batted .455 (5-for-11) and had a .909 slugging percentage in the Panthers' three-game sweep of USA South rival Covenant. He scored four runs, had a triple, a home run, and eight RBIs in the series. Ruth had the triple and four RBIs in the series-opening 14-3 victory. He hit his first collegiate home run in the third game, as LC completed the sweep with a 5-4 win. Ruth is second on the team with a .375 batting average and his 31 RBIs lead the team and is tied for the conference lead.
