Cross Country: LC teams race in Macon

The LaGrange College Cross Country teams traveled to Macon Friday for the Julius Johnson Invitational, co-hosted by Mercer University and Middle Georgia State University. Both the men's and women's squads earned top-10 finishes.

Led by freshman Kennedy Young with a 5K time of 23:55, the LC women's team placed ninth overall. She was followed by Laurel Reese with a time of 25:19, and Lindsey Swearngin at 26:29.

In the men's race, sophomore Isaiah Oden ran his 8K time in 32:11, leading LaGrange to secure a seventh-place spot overall. Not far behind was Stephen Petty with a time of 33:16, and Luke Jarvis with 34:33.

Head Coach Jason Jonus noted how well both teams were progressing this season.

"Everybody has made really good progress so far; we just have to keep pushing," Jonus said. "I am really proud of how the team performed today, and I am excited to see them keep improving."

The teams' next meet is the Gary Wilson Invitational in Carrollton on Friday, Sep. 24.
