The LaGrange College Cross Country teams traveled to Carrollton this Saturday for the Gary Wilson Invitational, hosted by the University of West Georgia.
Led by freshman Kennedy Young with a 5K time of 23:33:08, the LC womens' team performed very well, with each of the runners setting a personal record. Young was followed by Lindsey Swearngin with a time of 24:42:57, and Lindsey Green with a time of 29:02:35.
In the men's race, sophomore Isaiah Oden ran his 8K in 30:46:10, helping LaGrange secure an eighth-place spot overall. Right behind was Steven Petty with a time of 30:46:41, and Luke Jarvis with a time of 32:42:69.
Head Coach Jason Jonus said that he was proud of both teams' performances.
"Everyone did really well today, and I am proud of each of [the runners]," Jonus said. "Everyone is making good progress."
The teams' next meet is the Skyhawk Invitational in Valley, Alabama, on Saturday, Oct. 1.
