For well over 40 years Dan Schulte has coached at almost every level of volleyball with great success. Starting his playing and coaching experience in central Ohio, coach Schulte popped up on the national stage in helping University of Rhode Island program become the first and only team from New England to be nationally ranked and receive an at large bid to the NCAA tournament as an assistant coach. From there, he became the head women’s volleyball coach at Syracuse University for nine years winning 200 career matches and finishing second in the Big East for three seasons. From Syracuse, he went on to coach at Oakland University for four years, transitioning the team from a top 20 Division II program to DI. After Oakland, coach Schulte coached with some of the top club programs in Michigan, Ohio, and North Carolina. Before coming to LaGrange, he coached two years at Louisburg College acquiring a 10 win improvement in his first year. He is proud of both of his great son’s, Jordan 21, and Jared 25.
