THIBODAUX, La. – LaGrange (0-16) beach volleyball pushed a pair of sets to the limit as they fell 5-0 to Louisiana-Monroe (8-0, 0-0 Southland) and Loyola New Orleans (4-8, 1-2 SUN) on the final day of the Clash on the Cajun Bayou in NCAA beach volleyball action on Saturday, March 4.
LOUISIANA MONROE 5, LAGRANGE 0
Taking on a Division I program would see the Warhawks deliver a commanding 5-0 victory in the opener of the final day of action on the Bayou for the Panthers.
Senior Bailey Moss (Jupiter, Fla.) and freshman Zentrina Choice (Sumter, S.C.) posted one of the closer matches at No. 1, falling 21-10 and 21-6 to Kaitlyn Nowak and Julia Blazek while freshman Riley Morgan (Jackson, Ga.) and junior Carmen Hamilton (Alpharetta, Ga.) fell 21-13, 21-5 to Rylin Adams and Madeline Marquez at the two spot.
LOYOLA NEW ORLEANS 5, LAGRANGE 0
While the result would be the same against Loyola New Orleans, LaGrange would produce one of their closer matches on the season.
Moss and Choice fell 21-11 and 21-12 to Madeline Corrall and Kala Emanuelli the top spot before Morgan and Hamilton gave Juliet Petruzelli and Preslie Boswell all they could handled at No. 2. In that one they took the first set 21-19 before falling 21-14 in the second and 15-8 in the decisive third frame.
After a dominant 21-6, 21-8 decision at No. 3, LUNO would have to battle to land the sweep as freshmen Morgan Martin (Chelsea, Ala.) and Alexis Childers (Adairsville, Ga.) took Elizabeth Prado and Gabby Masiello to three sets at the four spot. After falling 21-10 they took Game 2 by a 21-19 score but could not find their footing in the third set, eventually dropping a 15-5 decision to close out the sweep.

The Panthers return to action with a rare midweek affair on Wednesday, March 8 as they head to Montgomery, Alabama to take on Huntingdon. That match is slated for a 6 p.m. first serve.
