THIBODAUX, La. – Taking on a pair of Division I programs, LaGrange (0-14) beach volleyball dropped a pair of 5-0 decisions to Nicholls State (1-4, 0-0 Southland) and New Orleans (3-2, 0-0 Southland) on Day 1 of the Clash on the Cajun Bayou in NCAA beach volleyball action on Friday, March 3.
NICHOLLS STATE 5, LAGRANGE 0
Senior Bailey Moss (Jupiter, Fla.) and freshman Zentrina Choice (Sumter, S.C.) put up a fight against Kennedi and Aspen Steele before falling 21-16, 21-13 at No. 1 while freshman Riley Morgan (Jackson, Ga.) and junior Carmen Hamilton (Alpharetta, Ga.) fell 21-16, 21-10 to Katie Jones and Luciana Chuong at the two spot.
Freshmen Morgan Martin (Chelsea, Ala.) and Alexis Childers (Adairsville, Ga.) rounded out the top performances as they fell 21-13, 21-16 to McKay Wilson and McKenna Malone. A straight sets victory at No. 4 and a forfeit at No. 5 then sealed the 5-0 decision.
HUNTINGDON 5, LAGRANGE 0
The Privateers would control the match from the very beginning, taking their 1-0 lead from a forfeit at the fifth position as they tore through the top two spots by 21-4, 21-5 and 21-5 and 21-7 scores. The closest decision would come as Martin and Childers fell 21-9, 21-11 at No. 3 before UNO wrapped up the 5-0 victory.

The Panthers are back in action tomorrow, Saturday, March 4 when they take on Louisiana Monroe (10 a.m.) and Loyola New Orleans (12 p.m.) to close out the Clash on the Cajun Bayou.
