The cross country men's and women's teams finished strong in their first race of the year.
The LaGrange College women's cross country team competed against many different schools ranging from DIII to DI in this year's Foothills Invitational. Ema Turner placed first for the Panthers, running a quick 21:43.20 in the 4000 Meter Run. Laurel Reese finished second for the Panthers at 24:38. Lindsey Green and Pamela Rabun rounded out the team with 26:23.40 and 28:30.90, respectfully.
The men's cross country team also competed against a wide array of DIII to DI schools in the Foothills Invitational. Santiago Vasquez placed first for the Panthers 5000 Meter Run at 19:12.1. Collin Hardin was close behind, coming in at 19:16.9. Parker Lovett and Eddie Montgomery closed out for the Panthers, running a 24:30.9 and 25.57.6.
The next time the Panthers run will be at the Huntingdon Hawks Invitational next Friday (Sept. 8), and it starts at 9:30 a.m.
