MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Rhodes handed LaGrange its seventh straight loss, outslugging the Panthers 16-12 on Wednesday at Staufer Field. The Panthers fell to 16-14, while the Lynx evened their record at 16-16.
Jordan Martinec went 3-for-6 with three runs scored and three RBIs for the Panthers, who had 13 hits in the game. Brent Kinsey hit his third home run of the season and Robbie Shelton his fourth. Kinsey and John Brock each had two hits.
Noel Thomas started for the Panthers. He allowed three runs in 2/3 of an inning. Robbie Williams relieved Thomas in the first inning, allowing four runs in 1-1/3 innings, only one of the runs was earned.
Henry Jacobs (1-1) followed Williams, allowing nine runs in 3-2/3 innings to take the loss. Kenneth Strack and Isaiah Whitfield each threw a scoreless inning.
The Panthers start a three-game GSAC series Friday at Piedmont.
