LaGrange took on Berry in a non-conference game Tuesday night at cold and rainy Cleaveland Field at Williamson Stadium.
The Vikings (9-4) built a large lead and went on to a 12-6 win over the Panthers (3-8). The two teams combined for 30 hits in the game.
Chris Laye led the Panthers' 11-hit attack with three hits, including a double. Chad Pigg also had a double and finished with two hits. Alec Redden had a pinch-hit RBI double.
The Panthers used seven pitchers in the game. Cole Anderson (0-2) started and pitched 2-2/3 innings, giving up three runs and five hits.
Tyler Brooks, Bruno Aurnhammer and Jonathan Fleckenstein followed Anderson. Ryan Gajda, Chris Dunn and Josh Bricker threw a combined 3-1/3 scoreless innings to close out the game, allowing one hit. Gajda struck out three of the four batters he faced.
The Panthers host Ferrum in a three-game USA South series Saturday and Sunday. The two teams play a doubleheader Saturday beginning at 2 p.m. They finish the series Sunday with a 2 p.m. start.
