LaGrange College alum Richie Post is the new baseball pitching coach as announced by head coach David Kelton. Post replaces Scott Mularz, who accepted the head coaching position for baseball at Mississippi University for Women.
Post graduated from LaGrange in 2020 with a degree in Exercise Science. He is currently working on a master's degree in Exercise Science at Columbus State University.
During the 2020-21 school year, Post was the assistant junior varsity and varsity baseball coach at Harris County High School. Prior to that, he worked for Homeplate, a travel baseball organization. He was the organization's head coach for the 16U team. Post was in charge of Homeplate's summer youth camp.
Post was a four-year letterman for LC, playing on three USA South championship teams. He was 15-9 with a 3.62 ERA with the Panthers. Post's 163 career strikeouts rank eighth on the school's career strikeout list. In 2019, he was the USA South All-Conference third team starting pitcher after going 7-1 with a 4.65 ERA. As a freshman, Post was the USA South Rookie of the Year after going 4-2 with a 3.05 ERA. He earned USA South Academic All-Conference honors three times.
