Junior third baseman Joe Ruth and senior outfielder McKinley Erves were selected to the 2022 ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Div. III All-America Teams as announced by the organization. Ruth was a first team selection and Erves was on the third team. The duo was selected to the D3baseball.com 2022 All-America team earlier. It is the first time the Panthers had two players named to two All-America teams in the same season.
Ruth was the Player of the Year on the D3baseball.com All-Region 6 and ABCA/Rawlings All-Region 6 teams. Ruth was on the USA South All-Conference first team. He batted .443 with 10 home runs, 83 RBIs, and a .671 slugging percentage, all team bests. Ruth led NCAA Division III with a record 109 hits. He is just the third Division III player with 100 hits in a season. The hits and RBIs were also USA South records. Ruth set a team record for at-bats (247) and tied another record with 22 doubles.
Erves was selected to the D3baseball.com All-Region 6 and ABCA/Rawlings All-Region 6 teams. Erves was also a first team all-conference selection. He batted .409 with five home runs and 52 RBIs. Erves set a new school and Division III season record with 91 runs scored. He walked a school record 51 times this season. Erves had a .628 slugging percentage and a team-high on-base percentage .531.
