LAGRANGE, Ga. – LaGrange (3-2, 0-1 CCS) men's tennis pulled out a 5-4 victory over Truett McConnell (1-3, 0-2 AAC) in an NCAA Division III men's tennis match on Saturday, March 4.
The Panthers would claim No. 1 doubles as seniors Al Robertson (Moreland, Ga.) and Luke Griffin (Atlanta, Ga.) notched an 8-4 victory over Luke Davidson and Cameron Lewis before sending the next two sets to extras. The No. 2 spot would see freshmen Michael Strydom (Brits, South Africa) and Nic Bodin (Atlanta, Ga.) go 9-8 and 7-5 over Ike Dixon and Landon Guthrie before fellow freshman Kyle Moore (Sharpsburg, Ga.) and Peyton Beasley claimed a 9-8 (7-5) victory over Ethan Carlson and Jake Floyd.
With LaGrange holding a 3-0 margin, TMU would get on the board as Dixon claimed a 6-1, 6-1 decision over Moore at the three spot before Robertson made it 4-1 with a 6-3, 6-1 win over Davidson at the top spot. Lewis then kept the Bears hopes alive with a hard-fought 7-6, 4-6, 10-7 victory over Strydom at No. 2.
From there, however, Bodin would lock up the match with a 6-4, 6-1 win over Carlson at the fifth spot before Floyd brought it to the final margin of 5-4 with a 4-6, 6-1, 10-3 decision over Beasley.

The Panthers return to action on Saturday, March 11 when they host Belhaven. First serve is set for 2 p.m. at the Greer Tennis Courts.
