Senior Doug Scherer is the USA South Baseball Pitcher of the Week for the week ending March 3.
Scherer pitched seven scoreless innings in getting the series clinching win over USA South foe Greensboro in his only start of the week. The senior right-hander scattered nine hits, did not walk a batter and struck out five.
In his last two starts, Scherer has thrown 14 scoreless innings while striking out 15. He is 3-1 for the season with a 1.33 earned run average.
