DEMOREST, Ga. - The LaGrange College women's soccer team suffered a 3-0 Collegiate Conference of the South loss to Piedmont on Thursday night. The loss drops the Panthers to 6-4-2 overall and 2-2-1 in conference play.
The Panthers gave up two early goals in the first 18 minutes, but held their own the rest of the first half, keeping the score at 2-0. The Lions added a third goal early in the second half where it held to the final whistle.
LaGrange struggled to get shots off in the first half, being outshot 13-4, but was just only outshot 5-3 in the second period. Six of LaGrange's seven shots were on goal, as Lauren Williamson had three, Kaia King two, and Sydney Dailey one. Leila Moss had seven saves in goal in the game.
The game was very physical, as the two teams combined for 27 fouls and six yellow cards.
The Panthers look to get back on track Saturday at home against Berea at 1 p.m.
