The Panthers lost 2-1 to Birmingham-Southern, after they found the net for a last minute goal in the 87th.
In the first half, both teams traded chances but nothing was going in. Kaia King and Lauren Williamson both took shots on target but Birmingham-Southern's Grace Elsevier was able to save each of the would-be goals. The first half finished tied at zero all.
The second half continued to be tied until Juliet Williams found Halle Morton to put BSC up 1-0 in the 62nd minute. Kendyl Anderson answered with a goal of her own in the 71st minute to tie the game 1-1. In the 87th minute, Juliet Williams scored a goal her second goal of the night to put BSC up 2-1 with limited time remaining. The final score was 2-1.
The next time the Panthers play is at Panther Field against Covenant on Saturday (Sept. 16), at 4 p.m. The volleyball team also plays at home that day at noon, so come out to both matches to support LaGrange College student-athletes.
