This Thursday (Oct 5) at 6 p.m., LC takes on CCS opponent Belhaven at Panther Field
The Matchup
The Panthers are 5-4-2 (2-2 in the CCS) and are coming off of a 4-0 shutout win at Warren Wilson. Briana Suarez leads the team in points (18) with eight goals and two assists. Belhaven is 7-2-1 (4-0 in the CCS) and most recently won 3-1 against Covenant (Sept. 30). The Panthers also played Covenant but dropped the game 1-0 (Sept. 16). Another team both squads have played against is Birmingham-Southern. Belhaven won the game against them 3-0 (Sept. 26) but the Panthers lost their game to BSU in a hard fought 2-1 loss. Junior Kaci Craft leads the Blazers in points (13) with six goals and one assist. The last time the two teams played, the Panthers lost the game 6-0. This year's match will be a fun and competitive game between two great squads.
What to watch for
In the last two games, the Panthers have won by a combined 11-0 score against CCS opponents. Watch for how the team can carry this wave of momentum into a game against a much tougher Belhaven squad. Come out and cheer on the LC student-athletes.
