The Lions early goal pushed Piedmont past LaGrange tonight (Oct. 10).
Piedmont got off to a quick start, scoring a goal in the 2nd minute. The Panthers created chances but nothing was going in. The best opportunity came in the 35th minute, when Kendyl Anderson made a great pass in front of the net but it was just too far out of reach for Kaia King to get. The half ended with Piedmont up 1-0.
In the second half, the Panthers controlled the ball for a great amount of time on the Lions side but struggled to finish their chances. In the 52nd minute of the game, the Panthers took multiple shots on goal but nothing would get by the Piedmonts goalkeeper. In the 65th, LC took a fantastic free kick but it struck the top of the crossbar and went out of bounds. Briana Suarez was given a great pass by Kendyl Anderson for Suarez to finish it but was called offside in the 78th minute, after the team had celebrated the goal. Piedmont went on to win 1-0.
The next game for the Panthers is on Wednesday (Oct. 18) against Huntingdon. The match is at Huntingdon at 7:30 p.m.
