After winning their first scrimmage against Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College, the Panthers lost to Georgia Southwestern State University in the final exhibition. Coach Fosuhene believes both of these scrimmages have helped the team improve before the regular season starts. The first match is in Rocky Mount, North Carolina against N.C. Wesleyan on Saturday, Sept. 2 at 4 p.m.
The team benefited significantly from playing the two preseason scrimmages. Head Coach Fosuhene said, "Having the ability to get a lot of people minutes playing together was huge, especially with a young team." The second exhibition was against Georgia Southwestern State University, a DII school playing in one of the top conferences. Regarding the tough matchup, coach said, "That game helped us grow and improve as a team, especially since we are relatively a young team made up of sophomores and freshmen." Having these two preseason scrimmages under their belt, Coach Fosuhene has high hopes for this year's squad. He said, "We have an extremely talented group this year if we put the pieces together, stay connected as a team and continue to develop, the sky's the limit."
As stated, the first game of the regular season is against N.C. Wesleyan on Saturday, Sept. 2 at 4 p.m. The following day, the team plays against Meredith College at 2 p.m. also in Rocky Mount, North Carolina. The full schedule can be found on the LaGrange College Athletics page.
