Senior quarterback Shedrick Lindsey and freshman linebacker Renardo Faust earned weekly USA South honors for their play in the Panthers' 44-38 win over Ferrum.
Lindsey is the Offensive Player of the Week. He was 18-of-35 passing for 220 yards and three touchdowns. Lindsey had touchdown passes of 40, 35, and 8 yards. The 8-yard TD pass to Eric Harris in the third quarter gave the Panthers the lead for good. Lindsey has thrown for 374 yards and four touchdowns in LC's first two games.
Faust is the Rookie Defensive Player of the Week. He had two tackles, recovered a fumble, and returned an interception for a touchdown. Faust's interception return capped a 21-point third quarter for the Panthers and gave them their largest lead, 38-28.
The Panthers open the USA South portion of their schedule against Methodist on Saturday in Callaway Stadium. Kickoff is 1 p.m.
