The Panthers were supposed to open a new football season on Sept. 3, but that game with Middle Georgia State University has been canceled.
Earlier this month the Middle Georgia head coach resigned, and due to that and other issues surrounding the football program, the decision was made by officials at LaGrange College to cancel the game which had been scheduled for Sept. 3.
LaGrange will play a nine-game schedule in the regular season, beginning with a game at Berry College on Sept. 10.
The Panthers will make their home debut on Sept. 17 against Ferrum, and they'll be back at Callaway Stadium on Sept. 24 for their USA South opener against Methodist.
Fans will get a chance to see the Panthers in action on Saturday during the Pres vs. AD game at Callaway Stadium.
The game, which is part of Panther Pride Day, kicks off at 4 p.m., and the teams will be coached by President Susanna Baxter and Director of Athletics Terlynn Olds.
