DALTON, Ga. – LaGrange men's golf delivered a strong opening round at the inaugural Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) Championships as they shot a 306 to finish the first 18 holes at 3-of-7, just four strokes off the lead, on Monday, April 17.
Freshmen Jeremy Edmunds (Charlotte, N.C.) and Martin Prlender (Cordoba, Argentina) led the charge for the Panthers as each shot a three-over par 75 to tie for 4-of-35. They find themselves just two shots back of the leader with fellow freshman Park Ward (Columbus, Ga.) is tied for eighth with a 77.
Huntingdon leads the field with a 302, followed by Piedmont (304), LC, Maryville (310), Covenant (333), Belhaven (334) and Berea (367).
The Panthers will tee off for the middle 18 holes of the tournament tomorrow, Tuesday, April 18. The entire field is set for an 8 a.m. shotgun start.
