FLORENCE, Ala. – Freshman Jeremy Edmunds (Charlotte, N.C.) moved up 14 spots over the final 18 holes of The Shoals Intercollegiate as LaGrange wrapped up the tournament in 14-of-16 with rounds of 315-315-292-922 on Tuesday, April 11. That tournament featured eight nationally ranked programs – including five from the Top-10 – and the Panthers final round 292 was the fourth lowest of the day.
Edmunds finished tied for 19-of-96 with rounds of 73-79-69-221, authoring a round that would tie for the second lowest of the day and trail only individual champion Cameron Cappuzzo – and that by only one stroke.
Fellow freshman Garrett Armbrust (Woodstock, Ga.) would be the next highest finisher, firing rounds of 83-77-72-232 while freshman Martin Prlender (Cordoba, Argentina) shot a 77-81-75-233 to tie for 56th.
No. 3 Methodist pulled out the victory, shooting an 862 and winning by tiebreak over No. 1 Emory while No. 4 Carnegie Mellon (878), No. 12 Huntingdon (890) and No. 15 Sewanee (894) rounded out the top five.
The Panthers have closed out the regular season and return to action from April 17-19 when they head to Dalton, Georgia for the inaugural Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS). That tournament will feature 18 holes per day and be played at the Dalton Country Club.
