LAGRANGE, Ga. – LaGrange men's golf is back in action with a trip to the 2023 Port City Invitational for 54 holes from March 6-7. That tournament will be played in Savannah, Georgia at the Savannah Country Club and will feature more than 100 competitors.
In addition to the Panthers and host Berry this year's tournament will feature Belhaven, Birmingham Southern, Carnegie Mellon, Denison, Emory, Guilford, Hampden-Sydney, Kenyon, Maryville, North Carolina Wesleyan, Oglethorpe, Piedmont, Randolph Macon, Roanoke, Rochester, Wabash and Wittenberg.
Savannah Country Club, located at 501 Wilmington Island Road, has a long and storied history with the championship-level golf course dating to the 1930's. Designed by Donald Ross, it is an 18-hole course that features picturesque fairways and small, well bunkered greens among its 6,715 yards and par 71 configuration.
Representing LaGrange will be junior Connor Gillespie (Hoschton, Ga.) and freshmen Garret Armbrust (Woodstock, Ga.), Jeremy Edmunds (Charlotte, N.C.), Martin Prlender (Cordoba, Argentina) and Eli Rogers (Athens, Ga.).
Fans can follow live scoring throughout each round of the tournament and full results and recaps will be available on www.LaGrangePanthers.com, the official online home of Panthers Athletics, following the completion of each day's action. Play will begin at 8 a.m. on Monday, March 6 with a shotgun start on Tuesday, March 7.
