SAVANNAH, Ga. – Freshman Jeremy Edmunds (Charlotte, N.C.) and LaGrange men's golf delivered tremendous performances as they both finished Day 1 of the Port City Invitational in first place on Monday, March 6. The Panthers shot an ultra consistent 297-297-594 over the first 54 holes.
Edmunds shot a 72-72-144 to claim the tournament lead by a stroke over Emory's Grant Drogosch while freshman Eli Rogers (Athens, Ga.) sits in seventh with rounds of 72-76-148. Freshman Martin Prlender (Cordoba, Argentina) rounded out the top performers as he tied for 14th at 77-75-152.
Behind the Panthers in the standings are Hampden-Sydney-B (604), Hampden-Sydney-A (605), Maryville (611) and Roanoke (623).
The tournament wraps up with the final 18 holes at 8 a.m. tomorrow, Tuesday, March 7 and fans can follow live scoring throughout the day.
