DALTON, Ga. – Freshman Martin Prlender (Cordoba, Argentina) finds himself just two strokes off the lead after 36 holes and LaGrange men's golf sits in third at the inaugural Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) Championships with scores of 306-308-614 following play on Tuesday, April 18.
Prlender bettered his Day 1 round of 75, coming in at 74, to post a 151 through the first two rounds and is currently alone in fourth, just two strokes behind co-tournament leaders Jack Burr and Grant Gronka of Huntingdon.
He is not the only Panther with a shot at an individual championship either as freshmen Jeremy Edmunds (Charlotte, N.C.) has shot rounds of 75-76-151 and is tied for 5-of-35 entering the final day. Fellow freshman Park Ward (Columbus, Ga.) is tied for 14th at 77-80-157 to round out LC's top finishers.
Huntingdon continues to lead the field at 596 with Piedmont seven strokes back in second at 603. Trailing LaGrange are Maryville (624) and Belhaven (658) to round out the top five.
The Panthers will tee off for the final 18 holes of the tournament tomorrow, Wednesday, April 19 between 9:40 a.m. and 10:20 a.m.
