Visiting Point took a 3-1 non-conference match from LaGrange on Thursday in Richter Gym. The loss left LC 3-18 on the season, while Point upped its record to 11-13. The Skyhawks won the match by scores of 25-13, 25-12, 24-26, and 25-11.
Jharia Harris had a team-high nine kills and added 10 digs. Zentrina Choice followed Harris with six kills. Morgan Martin had 21 assists and eight digs. Shania Espada had a team-high 17 digs.
After dropping the first two sets, the Panthers came back in the third set. They used a 9-0 run to wipe out a 15-12 Point lead. Bailey Moss finished the run with a kill off an assist from Martin.
The Panthers led 23-19 but Point ran off five straight points to go up 24-23 and serving for the match. The Skyhawks committed back-to-back errors to give LC a 25-24 lead. Choice put down a kill to close out the set for the Panthers.
The Panthers face Covenant and Piedmont in a Collegiate Conference of the South tri-match Saturday at Demorest, Georgia.
