DEMOREST, Ga. - Covenant and Piedmont downed LaGrange in a Collegiate Conference of the South tri-match Saturday in Cave Arena. The losses left LC 3-20 overall and 3-10 in the conference.
Covenant swept the Panthers 25-18, 25-9, and 25-11. Zentrina Choice had five kills and Shania Espada 10 digs for LC.
The host Lady Lions also beat the Panthers 3-0, winning a marathon third set. They took the first two sets 25-12 and 25-16. The Panthers fought off four straight match points in the third set before falling 29-27.
Choice led LC once again with eight kills. Jharia Harris followed with seven kills and led four Panthers in double-figures in digs with 16. Riley Morgan had 15 digs, Espada 13, and Bailey Moss 10. Vianca Colon-Gonzalez had a team-high 11 assists.
The Panthers host Huntingdon in a CCS match on Thursday, Oct. 27 in the Richter Gym starting at 7 p.m.
