BEREA, Ky. - The LaGrange volleyball team swept Wesleyan 3-0 for its first win of the season at a Collegiate Conference of the South tri-match at Berea College on Saturday. The Panthers 1-10 (1-2 CCS) lost 3-0 to the host Mountaineers in their final match of the day.
LC beat Wesleyan 25-22, 25-16, and 25-17. The Panthers lost to Berea 25-22, 25-16, and 25-14.
Senior Jharia Harris had a career-high 17 kills in the Wesleyan match. The Panthers recorded a season-high 69 digs against the Wolves. Shania Espada and Rhaya Harwell each had 18, while Alexis Childers added 15. Childers also had seven kills. Zentrina Choice added six kills and had a .385 attack percentange. Morgan Martin had 22 assists and seven digs.
In the Berea match, Choice led LC with six kills. Childers had a team-high 14 digs.
The Panthers host Pensacola Christian on Friday, Oct. 1 at 7 p.m. in Richter Gym.
