The Panthers took the Eagles to five sets but lost 3-2 against Pensacola Christian.
After dropping the first set, the Panthers came out swinging in the second. Each team traded leads until the Panthers pulled away at 17-14. The Eagles kept clawing at the Panthers but it was not enough for them to stop LC. The Panthers won the second set 25- 21.
After being tied at 1-1 in sets, the third set began 3-3 until the Panthers went on a 7-1 run to go up 10-4. LC continued to play well and play together until the Panthers won the set 25-17. During this set the Panthers smiled, cheered and seemed to really enjoy playing volleyball. This was one of Coach Schulte's main goals for this season and things were going according to plan.
The fourth set started off hot with a 4-0 lead for the Panthers until the Eagles were able to grab a point. Pensacola Christian kept fighting while keeping it close until they tied it at 11. The set stayed competitive but the Eagles were able to pull it out.
The fifth stayed as close as possible with both teams tying it up at 14-14. Sadly, the Eagles pulled it out 16-14.
Panthers lost 3-2 to Pensacola Christian.
