LaGrange College Welcomes New Volleyball Head Coach
Dan Schulte takes over as the volleyball Head Coach for LaGrange College. For well over 40 years Dan Schulte has coached at almost every level of volleyball with great success. Starting his playing and coaching experience in central Ohio, coach Schulte popped up on the national stage in helping the University of Rhode Island program become the first and only team from New England to be nationally ranked and receive an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament as an assistant coach. From there, he became the Head Coach for the women's volleyball team at Syracuse University for nine years, winning 200 career matches and finishing second in the Big East for three seasons. From Syracuse, he went on to coach at Oakland University for four years, transitioning the team from a top 20 Division II program to DI. After Oakland, Schulte coached with some of the top club programs in Michigan, Ohio, and North Carolina. Before coming to LaGrange, he coached for two years at Louisburg College, acquiring a 10-win improvement in his first year. He is proud of his two great son's, Jordan 21, and Jared 25.
