Tonight (Sept. 18) the volleyball team opens CCS play against the Blazers of Belhaven at 7 p.m.
The matchup-
Belhaven is looking to get their second match win of the season. In their 11 matches, they are 1-10, with their solo win being a 3-2 victory over Mississippi University for Women. Currently, Caitlin Torok leads the Blazers with an impressive 69 kills and 11 service aces on the season. The Panthers want to conquer the Blazers tonight to also secure their second victory of the season. LC has a record of 1-5, acquiring their only victory against Wesleyan with a score of 3-2. Senior Journey Oden leads the Panthers in kills with an incredible 42 so far. Sophomore Riley Morgan has done a great job defensively this year for LC. She currently leads the team with 46 digs and 91 service receptions. One Panther to really watch for in this match is outside Hitter Journey Oden. Her spikes during the match against Oglethorpe seemed unstoppable, as reflected in the statistics where she led with eight kills.
