Panthers finish the weekend on the road 2-0 with today's 71-49 win to Covenant. Lalia Battle scored a team-high 15 points, shooting 44% from the field.
First half details
Despite shooting less than 10% from three, it was all Panthers all the way. LC outplayed and outpaced the hosts Scots in every single way during the first half. One play that demonstrated this was when the Panthers were able to grab three rebounds in a row after missed shots.After 20 minutes, the Panthers led 36-21.
Lalia Battle had a team-high 13 points, shooting 46% from the field.
Second half details
LC continued to dominate in the second half. Early in the third, Laila Battle made a great move past her defender, found an open Britney Chavez and Chavez hit a Panther three. At the end of the third quarter, LC led 54-36. Being up 18 going into the final quarter allowed the Panthers to step away from their normal fast pace offense and slow things down. LC led the rest of the way to win 71-49.
Top Panther performance
Amanda Mclendon had an outstanding performance today. The forward scored 13 points, shooting a solid 67% from the field. She also grabbed three rebounds, two steals, and had one assist.

The Panthers return home to take on Berea this Friday (Jan. 12). The game tips off at 5 p.m.
