Following her dominant performances against Asbury and Regent at the Covenant Classic (Dec. 1-2), Zyhia Johnson earns CCS Player of the Week.
In the first game of the Classic, Johnson scored an incredible team-high 25 points in the 66-58 win over Asbury (Dec. 1). The junior guard also grabbed seven rebounds, had two assists and a steal in her standout performance. The following day (Dec. 2), the Georgia native accounted for 12 points, four rebounds, two assists and a steal in the 97-70 win over Regent. In those two games, she shot 40% from beyond the arc and 48% from the field. These impressive performances are not a fluke either. The 2022-23 First Team All-Conference guard averages a team-high 18.6 points per game, shooting 54% from the field and 36% from three. The offensive guru has been a commanding force on the court, making her play must-watch basketball.
You can see Johnson and the Panthers take on Point at home this Wednesday (Dec. 6), at 5:30 p.m.
