LaGrange College's Zyhia Johnson and Taylor Smith were named CCS Player of the Week and CCS Rookie of the Week following their outstanding performances.
For the second time this season, Zyhia Johnson earned CCS Player of the Week. Over the past week, Zhyia helped lead the Panthers to a 3-0 CCS start with road wins over Belhaven, Piedmont and Covenant. In these games, Zyhia averaged a team-high 18 points and had an incredible 25 points while adding eight rebounds, seven steals and two assists in the win over Belhaven.
Taylor Smith was also honored by the CCS by earning Rookie of the Week for her great performances. In the past week, Smith posted a double-double with 22 points and 11 rebounds in an 83-76 win over Belhaven. She then had two back-to-back eight point and nine rebound performances against Piedmont and Covenant.
The Panthers return home to take on Berea this Friday (Jan. 13) at 5 p.m. Come out and cheer on these LC student-athletes and their teammates to victory!
