LAGRANGE, Ga. – LaGrange (0-4, 0-1 CCS) women's tennis returned to action as they dropped a 9-0 decision to Truett McConnell (4-2, 2-2 AAC) in non-conference NCAA Division III women's tennis action on Saturday, March 4.
The Bears would dominate the top two doubles spots, claiming 8-2 and 8-0 decisions, respectively, before junior Leila Moss (Suwanee, Ga.) and freshman Nina Fischer pushed Emma-Kate Kirkland and Margaret Smart at No. 3. They would force an extra frame with a 9-8 decision before falling 7-5 to give TMU a doubles sweep.
They would then barrel through singles play, allowing three points just once, that being a 6-1, 6-3 loss by senior Kirsten Boyd (Alabaster, Ala.) at No. 2. Moss would post the next closest decision as she fell 6-2, 6-2 to Smart at No. 6 to round out the 9-0 sweep.
